Brooke Darmanin brings nearly two decades of experience in public education to Hewes Middle School. She most recently served as Assistant Principal at San Clemente High School and also served as Assistant Principal at both Newhart Middle School and Las Flores Middle School in Capistrano Unified, as well as Assistant Principal at Burlingame Intermediate School in the San Francisco Bay Area. During her tenure, she provided instructional leadership by implementing Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), coordinating state assessments, and led initiatives to support student achievement and staff collaboration.

Throughout her administrative career, Mrs. Darmanin has led numerous student-centered initiatives, including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and specialized academic programs such as AVID, Mandarin Immersion, and Two-Way Spanish Immersion. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that every student deserves equitable opportunities, meaningful relationships, and a learning environment where they are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Mrs. Darmanin earned her Administrative Services Credential from California State University, East Bay, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Life Science and Secondary Education from Gustavus Adolphus College.

Mrs. Darmanin believes that exceptional schools are built through strong relationships, high expectations, and collaborative leadership. She is committed to empowering educators, partnering with families, and creating inclusive school cultures where every student feels valued, connected, and prepared for future success.

Outside of school, Mrs. Darmanin enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and embracing opportunities to learn and grow both personally and professionally. She is a proud mother of one daughter and a wife to a wonderfully supportive husband. She considers it a privilege to serve students, staff, and families and is dedicated to building school communities where everyone can thrive.
